Under the capable direction of Mr. O ' Doherty (better known as Mr. O ' D ), the Slater staff manages to efficienth- serve meals in a friendl)-, gracious atmosphere. Besides ser ing regular college meals, the Slater staff is also responsible for ser ing at the many college banquets, luncheons, pic- nics and teas. Most appreciated by West Chester students are the annual Hawaiian htau in the fall and the wild western cook-out in the spring. Cer- tainly Mr. O ' D and his hard-working staff deser e much credit for their most excellent and untiring service. Pictured abo e are the Slater .staff members. From 1. to r. : Mr. Depalantonio, Mr. Melackrinos, Mr. Gebbard, Mr. P. O ' Doherty (director), and Mrs. Thomas (seated). Maybe if I drink all of thi.s milk, I won ' t have anv room left for dinner. Slater has done it again! The pleased look on this young man ' s face shows that he is enjoying his deli- cious meal as well as the company of the three young ladies. Who wouldn ' t with a three-one ratio! Peering out from the depths of the pit, these fellows pause for a break and take time out to observe all that ' s going on in the outside world. 27

Let ' s sec now, I.G.A. assembly news, my home-town paper, a library notice, and a letter-for my box-mate. BOOKSTORE The I.G.A. college bookstore is one place with which all West Chester students are familiar. The store has greatly expanded dnring the last fonr years and now boasts of a larger size as well as a greater variety of merchandise. Everything from books to bobbypins is to be foimd there. Jobs are also provided for those students who require them. Involved in the organization and staff of the bookstore are, 1. to r. : Edith Dunmire, Katherine Finnegan, Ed Reynolds, Robert Norris, Alberta McAfee, Cecilia Close, and Shirley Townsend. Their assistance is vital. A familiar sight to all is a busy and crowded bookstore during the first week or two of classes.
