Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Owens, has a hand in all activities affiliated with the student body. Dr. Wic claff, formerly with Columbia University, fills the new office of Dean of Administrative Affairs. His responsibilities include financial affairs, space allotment, and food services. These men fulfill duties perti- nent to trie students of trie college. Dr. Owens controls student em- ployment, operates the college testing program for entering stu- dents, regulates student participa- tion in extra curricular activities, and appoints faculty advisors to aid the individual students. Dr. Widdall heads the areas of business and finance, buildings and grounds, registration, food service, security, space utilization, campus planning, and new con- struction. He spends two days each week studying other campus problems and then applies them to the plans for our new campus buildings. Currently he is work- ing on the problems of land ac- quisition, renovation of the Ram s Head Recreation Center, and plans for the new dormitories, dining hall, and science building. ADMINISTRATION

ADMINISTRATION Dr. Earl F. Sykes, past Dean of Academic Affairs, is Acting President of our college. As chief executive and administrator he is responsible for the growth of the institution both academically and physically. The President is instrumental in the administration and regulation of college policy. This office is the major link between the college and its Board of Trustees. Directly responsible to the President, Dr. A. Antonowich, Director oj Public Relations, and Mr. John Clokey. Specialists in College Publications, discuss with President Sykes information to be released to the press. Prior to being named Acting President, Dr. Sykes held the positions of Director of Personnel, Director of Student Teaching and Placement, Acting Dean of Instruction, Director of Qraduate Studies, and Dean of Academic Affairs. Needless to say he is acquainted with all aspects of college life — a capable man for this new office.

Directing and Advising . . . Under the guidance of Dr. Mark Evans. Director of Student Teaching and Placement, the Placement Bureau semes hoth graduates and undergraduates. Student teaching offers the trial run for undergraduates contemplating education as a career. Students confronted with a scheduling problem can always consult Mr. Emil Messikomer. His title — Dean of the Undergraduate School. His job — helping students select and plan their fields of study. Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds, Mr. Herbert Clavier fills a responsible post. Listed among his duties are supen ' ision of electricians, carpenters. plumbers, grounds keeper, and general maintenance personnel. The man with the money — Mr. Everett Shaefer, Business Manager, weighs his decisions carefully as he handles the state funds. All monetary transactions transpire through his efforts and with his approval.
