Dedication of New Buildings Governor and Mrs. Da id L. Lawrence and Dr. T. Xoel Stern welcome guests at the IDedicatiou Exercises held on campus Sunda , September 25, 1960. The dedication program for Swope Hall, McCarthy Hall, and Men ' s New Dormitor took place on the campus September 25. Governor David L. Lawrence and a staff of Commonwealth officials were in- cluded among the honored guests. Swope Hall, a new music build- ing was named in honor of the late President Charles Swope. Miss Grace McCarthy, for whom tlie new girls dormitory is named, was a member of the college facul- ty for thirty-four years. The men s dormitory is yet to be named. At the time of the dedication of the new buildings, other facili- ties of the college were named: John Hollinger Field House, John Farrell Stadium, Harr - Allen Base- ball Field, and Earle Waters Soccer Field. All of the men named abo e have had close associations with the college o er a long period of years. Seated at the luncheon prior to the Dedication exercises are: Mrs. J. Herbert Chambers, Chairman of the program; Governor David L. Lawrence; Dr. Charles W. David, President of the Board of Trustees; Andrew S. Bradle , Superintendent of the Common- wealth Department of Buildings and Supplies; Dr. T. Xoel Stern, President of the college; and the Reverend Robert B. Boell.
