w WflF •: y . - ? Tl iPli ' lMI - ;i - Tanglewood is noted in the east for its rare variety of shrubs and trees, one of which is a sophria japonica. There are only two or three such plants in the east. We can certainly be proud of the impressive residence of our president. At the corner of Rosedale Avenue and South Matlack Street lies the ofTicial residence of the President of West Ches- ter State Teachers College. President Charles S. Swope and his family are now the occupants of this beautiful home. For many years this home was known as the Thomas Darlington property. Only a shell of the original old stone mansion may now be seen, as roof and floors have been changed, and the present building overflows the space alloted to its predecessors. The first college president to live in Tanglewood was Dr. Norman W. Cameron who, with his family, occupied the home in 1930.
