f ophomores With Autumn Leaves, a semi-formal dance, the Sopliomore Class announced its official return to the college campus. Under the able guidance of their advisers, Mrs. Elizabeth Sevier and Mr. Theodore Hallman, and their class officers, Philip Lchr, president ; Anthony Mcconi, vice-president ; Joan E. Anderson, secretary ; and Jack ' an Newkirk, treasurer, the class of ' 58 is proving to be a class of capable leaders at West Chester State. In the fall of the year it is initiation into the Valkyrie Club for these members of the Sophomore Class, as they exhibit one of the strange sights wliich can be seen on campus during those three days of club regs. I I Juniors As juniors, the Class of 1957 accepted addi- tional responsibilities. Their activities included the selection of a class ring, the Hallowe ' en Party Target-Shooting Booth, and the spon- sorship of the Freshman Class. The highlight of the year was the Junior Prom, Paradise Island. The Mantle Ceremony ' , prior to Alumni Day, was an impressive occasion. It is in this fasliion that the Junior Class accepts the heavier burdens of seniority. Through the help and encouragement of their sponsors, Miss Jean Landis and Mr. William Landrum, the Junior Class has maintained a record of which it can be proud.
