Freshmen That Hectic Day! The freshmen get their first taste of the never-ending registration lines. The confused expressions topped by green dinks this fall belonged to the Freshman Class, who, led by their advisers, Mrs. I Iary Bliss and Dr. James Bonder, soon emerged from their quandary. The Dink Daze and St. Valentine ' s dances, along with a booth at tlie Hallowe ' en party, proved that the Class of ' 59 is an integral part of West Chester ' s campus. Three fresh- man members of the varsity football team gained recognition for the class. Freshmen meet the President. President and Mrs. Swope greet our incoming freshmen at Tanglewood. f ophomores With Autumn Leaves, a semi-formal dance, the Sopliomore Class announced its official return to the college campus. Under the able guidance of their advisers, Mrs. Elizabeth Sevier and Mr. Theodore Hallman, and their class officers, Philip Lchr, president ; Anthony Mcconi, vice-president ; Joan E. Anderson, secretary ; and Jack ' an Newkirk, treasurer, the class of ' 58 is proving to be a class of capable leaders at West Chester State. In the fall of the year it is initiation into the Valkyrie Club for these members of the Sophomore Class, as they exhibit one of the strange sights wliich can be seen on campus during those three days of club regs.
