DEDICATION It is with much afTection and appreciation that we, the members of the Class of 1954, dedicate this edition of the Scrjicntine to Mrs. Helen T. Ivins and Mr. Emil H. Messikomer. Mrs. Ivins, a member of the Department of Social Studies, lias not con- fined her talents solely to the area of instruction. Through her advisory work with Neithian Club and Student Government Association, she has gained respect and admiration for her untiring efforts and even temperament. Mr. Messikomer, in his dual role as director of personnel and basket- ball coach, has so successfully combined his administrative duties with his coaching abilities that he is recognized equally by members of the faculty and by the student body. Together, they have become well known to us in their capacity as Class Advisers, for they have helped us to achieve success by their friendly assis- tance and wise encouragement. For these reasons, we, as potential graduates of West Chester State Teachers College, are proud to dedicate this book to Mrs. Ivins and Mr. Messikomer, two graduates of this college who have proved themselves to be our valuable leaders and friends.
