SUltlUCHERSCOlUti WESTCHESTER The Beginninq The first day back, and greeted by lines — lines to register, lines for keys, lines for books. Familiar scenes and friendly faces welcomed upper- classmen, who walked confidently across campus with an air of knowing. The freshmen arrived and appeared uncertain. The beginning days were busy — old friends to find, coffee in the Pig, trips uptown, tennis to play, lobby sings, free ten-thirties. In the hearts of the students, it was still sum- mer; vacation memories remained to make them gay. Only the freshmen, completely lost in their strange surroundings, had many doubts about the new semester. Then all too soon leisure time was ended; classes started at eight o ' clock. With note- books under their arms, students made their way across the Quad and into Anderson hHall. Back to textbooks, notes and exams.
