Mr. Emil Steyclc (ossistont cooch), Mr. David McMahon (assistant coach), and Mr. Glenn Von Stetten (head coach). Senior Warrior Bruce Bonaventure gets ready to enter the game. Football is only one of Bruce's many and varied activities. Although the I960 football team's record is disappointing, o great deal of credit must be given to the players and coaches. Many people have made unjust criticisms without realizing that, in this year of rebuilding, more than 75% of the squad was composed of under- classmen and that next year there will be twenty varsity lettermen returning. Vince Giordano, a senior, was awarded the most valuable player trophy and made honorable mention on the All-Ches-Mont team. Many underclassmen also showed signs of promise, and we are looking forward to improvement next year. The athletic department and the student body were sorry to learn of the resignation of head coach Glenn Von Stetten. Mr. Von Stetten has held the position of head coach for the past four years, and his successor will find it difficult to fill the position as well.

A colorful attraction at our football games is the Marching Band, including the Majorettes and the Color Guard, which gives a magnificent performance before each game and at half-time, not mentioning the many songs it plays during the game itself fi 7X JJ to arouse the team s spirits. Besides appearing at the football games, rain or shine, it is also seen in school assemblies and in a number of parades; among these are the Hallowe'en Parade and the Veterans' Day Parade. This year the band had a new addi- tion, an all-girl color guard. We certainly enjoy watching and listening to the band as it executes many routines, thus earning our fullest acknowledgment as rendering an unlimited contribu- tion to our school.
