Record hops were one of council's popular innovations this year. This year was a very successful one for Sfudent Council, under the direction of our guidance counselors, Miss Dixon and Mr. Labin. and the faculty adviser, Mrs. Ford. Council's officers, President Bruce Bonaventure, Vice- President Bruce Schaeffer, Secretary Elaine Powell, and Treasurer Jack Martens, capably governed the proceedings. Various committees were chosen to carry out the plans that Council formulated, and many new developments were made. Through- out the year the members of Student Council organized informal record hops, along with the usual formal dances, and the annual skating party. Codes for dances, school dress, and safe driving were adopted. The members of Student Council do much of the behind-the-scene work for our school, and we congratulate this year's members for their outstanding contributions.

This showing clinched third place in Ches-Mont League com- petition for the Warrior Harriers. They were led this year by their senior co-captains Jim Johnston and Randy Sweet. The two losses were to Coates- ville and Pottstown, but by only five points each. At the Pottstown meet, Jim Johnston and Junior George Wolfer both broke records previously set by Colin MacKinnon of Conestoga. George Wolfer also finished fourth in the Districts and qualified for the State Championships. Coach Ed Malikowski checks the time as cross-country co- captain Jim Johnston crosses the finish line to break another record. Ace runners Johnston and Wolfer, who both broke several records, led the squad through a successful season.
