ADMINISTRATION AND FACULTY Teachers' characteristics and classroom person- alities ore as varied as those of us who daily sit before them. Some are inveterate homework col- lectors; others are not. Some are immune to the evils of chewing gum; others seethe at its sight. Some are devotees of the surprise quiz, while others overawe us with the power of the six weeks’ test. One wanders restlessly about and another stands rapt as he pours out the knowledge that is his. For some, education is a grim business and the classroom a solemn spot; for others, education is enhanced, not lessened, by a ready wit or a glint in the eye. Some of us may find only amusement or annoyance in these, our teachers; but those who will — find, more importantly — instruction, stimu- lation, and inspiration. However, our faculty members are occupied with many things other than teaching. To us, Mr. Lady means class rings as well as history. We see Miss Jenny planning for a Future Nurses' meeting, while Miss Lewis completes arrangements for the Honors Banquet, and Mr. Gambone chases that final Indianhead deadline all the way to the printers. And so each has his job beyond the classroom and thus contributes not only to our academic education but also to the many activities which we enjoy. These, our teachers, are but a tiny segment of humanity, as varied as life itself. In some way, the life of each one of us, has been significantly touched by the life of some of them. SITTING: Mr. Robert B. McCarter, Principal; Dr. G. Arthur Stetson, Superintendent of Schools; Mr. Harold H. Wingerd, Assistant Superintendent of Schools. STANDING: Mr. David R. Barrett, Administrative Assistant; Mr. David C. Fray, Assistant Principal. I
