Text from Pages 1 - 96 of the 1978 volume:

This year as the West Chester Christian this yearbook to friends, we are filled with School family and for the foundation our school has us in our Lord Jesus Christ. As our school days here at West Chester Christian School are coming to a close, we as maturing young adults seek to glorify our Saviour in each aspect of our lives as we go on to grow in our Christian lives. We wish to dedicate our lives and the contents of these pages to our Lord Jesus Christ, and our prayer for you, the reader, is that you know Him in a personal way as we do. Psalms 3 :11 8 SENIORS PRINCIPAL’S Dear Seniors, It is apparent to all careful observers of national and inter- national news that the world is heading for a total breakdown of moral standards. Though this is taking place, our prayer is that each of you will rise above the decaying morality around you. The teaching staff of the West Chester Christian School, by training by example, has given you standards to follow. We have also attempted to guide you in your decision making, with the hopeful outcome that your lives would glorify our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The time has come for you to make many decisions without the advice of your parents or teachers. May each of you put Christ first in your life. Our hopes for a better tomorrow depend upon the steps you take. May we al- ways be proud of you. Sincerely in Christ, : 'v' Leo D'Arcangelo WA 10 (9n iib cub ybudua ian day... 9 urn c you fob fie fUny ub ybcm ... f n cueabewebb ... ffn mibdcm .. .dn undetb aadmy ian yea fob fudfuny ub dere of .. . fjd eancebn feb cffiebb .. . tsdn affibeeia icm cf feau y . . . isd am fci fencudedye tJ ian c ycu fob w fiiny ub dibeamb fie hue meaniny I don't know. Al's cool and calm personality and his super soccer playing has been the main factor in attaining the Sportsmanship trophy three years in a row. This is all a good front because everyone knows he is the instigator be- hind every senior uproar. After graduation A1 plans to work and then possibly go to college. Soccer: 9,10,11,12 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5,6 Does anybody have a life- saver? can often be heard from this usually quiet senior. Lizard is anticipating a trip to the Philippines as a student missionary this summer where she plans to share her most prized possession, her salva- tion. Along with her spiritual qualities, her sense of humor will be looked back on. Remem- ber her snort echoing throughout the classroom? Career Program 12 Choir 10,11,12 Yearbook 11,12 The earth is the Lord's and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. Psalm 24:1 Ctfti fi n awne pjfta H Oh, stop it you guys! is usually followed by Krissy's smug laugh. It seems to us that Kris often looks at her watch and not always to tell the time. Could she be reminiscing thoughts of the '77 Spring Banquet? Kris's classmates can tease her in almost any area except music---there her talent on the piano tops us all. Kris will be attending practical nursing school in the fall, and all of us will be rooting for her success in the chemistry courses. Cheerleading: 12 Choir: 8-12 Yearbook: 11, 12 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, there- with to be content. Philippians 4:11 14 I can dig it.....That’s cool. The senior class heard that remark from Larry many times. That's what he used as his campaign slogan when running for class president. It must have worked because he swept the election away with a unani- mous vote. As basketball cap- tain, Larry thoroughly enjoys memories of the victories over Calvary. Larry plans to further his education at the Air Force Academy and he will most likely succeed, as usual, without even studying. Basketball: 9 10,11,12 Choir: 8,9,10,11,12 Class President: 12 SAA: 9,10,11 Soccer: 8,9,10,12 Yearbook; 11,12 as editor 3!a iby According to my earnest expecta- tion and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Philippians 1:20,21 'JaMA tyinme WaAmn Turkey! Faithy calls each of us this whenever we tease her about being absent so much. Maybe she stays home to take care of Chester, her cat,or her plants. She enjoys thoughts of sunny California and her fun trip there. Faith would like to attend a small school of Cos- metology in the fall. Choir: 10,11,12 Yearbook: 11,12 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3 = 1 Oh wow! That is what we thought of Shake and Bake as he contributed to our victory over Calvary in the league tournament. While William claims his basketball as his prize possession we all know it was the picture on his sock. We're sure William will use his school spirit as he attends college in the future. Basketball: 12 Choir: 12 Soccer: 12 Yearbook: 12 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23 A4a ue 3(sei leA Give me a chance! A chance for what? We still can't figure out how Kathy has time for everything! Between typing 150 research papers, providing her own wardrobe, and concocting favorite recipes, she still finds time for excessive study- ing. Obviously, her prize pos- session is her typewriter which will accompany her as she attends Bob Jones University in September. Career Program 12 Choir 11,12 Class Secretary 12 Yearbook 11,12 As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is tried; he is a buckler to all them that trust in him. God is my strength and power, and he maketh my way perfect. II Samuel 22:31,33 18 Beth enjoys looking back to the excitement she shared on the trip to Niagra Falls in '77. She will always be remembered for her dedication to the Awana Clubs and her love for young children. Beth will use her favorite gold pen as she goes on to work and then possibly college. Choir: 9,10,11,12 Yearbook: 10,11,12 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6 9 20 21 WcMeb 'ffa I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only but unto all them also that love his appearing. II Timothy :7,8 I'm just kidding...I didn't mean it that way. Jimmy has been spotted in the oddest places balancing the strangest things on his nose. You name it-he's balanced it! Since the night Jimmy got his truck he has never failed to keep it shiny and sparkling. It's a beauty! We're sure Jim's truck will get a lot of miles as he uses it for work and possibly night school after graduation. Baseball: 12 Basketball: 11,12 Soccer: 11,12 Yearbook: 11,12 Oh, nuts! Robbie will always be remembered at WCCS for her basketball ability and fantas- tic leadership qualities on and off the court. These, along with her great personality, led her to the MVP award. We enjoy- ed harassing her about this along with her stapled lunch bags and love notes from mommy. We'll all miss Robin as she goes on to United Wesleyan Col- lege to major in Chrisitan ed- ucation . Basketball: 11,12 Choir: 11,12 Yearbook: 11,12 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psalms 27:1 I don't care! We know Don Vis of Iowa cares, because if he didn't he wouldn't have spent his junior and senior year here with us. Don's ability on roller skates was shown after last year's Spring Banquet at the Kimberton Rink where he whizzed and waltzed around all of us. We will remember Don for his aftershave and will miss him at lunch selling ice cream but we wish him the best as he goes on to work and maybe Bible School. Baseball: 12 Basketball: 11,12 Choir: 12 Soccer: 12 Yearbook: 11,12 Qb(ma ct 'tfa Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Mark 11:24 24 What did you say? This phrase is often heard by Beel's friends as she inquires about assignments. Although Belinda appears to be quiet and shy, it is only an act. Actually she is quite a ham. She must have picked this up while vacation- ing in Virginia. Belinda plans to attend college in the fall and her huge Avon collec- tion will undoubtedly go with her. Choir: 11 f'ftte iwf fi (fou Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribula- tion, or distress, or persecu- tion, or famine, or nakedness, or peril or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
