West Charlotte had its beginnings in 1938 MR. CLINTON L. BLAKE Principal 1938 to present On September 6, 1938 West Charlott opened its doors to 39S students. The fi composed of fourteen members under the c ship of Clinton L. Blake as pi feature of the new school, in addition to its :quipment, was its location, 1415 Beatties Ford Road, address was then outside the city limits and back ' the highway thereby ridding students and teachers of c noises and annoyances. West Charlotte 1954. A new and lonely lobby 1954. A dramatic beginning, steady growth, continued success . . . the school now lives Then a dream became a reality! The new senior high school was built and in September 1954, Mr. Blake, thirty-one teachers and 800 students heralded the opening of the NEW WEST CHARLOTTE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL.
