i i 1 ce nes -rom a ong and interesting ourney 1957 Published by THE JOURNALISM DEPARTMENT West Charlotte Senior High School Charlotte, North Carolina 1957 Foreword In order to leave the footprints of the students who traveled this long and interesting journey and to add another year of work and play to the many journeys that have been completed here at West Charlotte, we have earnestly endeavored to pre- sent a pictorial annual which would represent our school as you would like to remember it. We hope that in years to come this annual will bring back memories to the travelers of the long and interesting journey at West Charlotte. Memories fade. . . We here present THE LION and hope that through this book you can relive your life at West Charlotte. THE STAFF Dedication For more years than we care to remember, the same cheerful assuring face has filled a niche in the hearts of the West Charlotte family . Regardless of what the occasion demanded, whether it was a kind word, a bit of advice, or an expression of gaiety, this friendly personality was there to provide it. She is so much a part of our school that to remove her would be to erase one of the brightest lights found along our journey . It is with matchless joy, with sincere gratitude, and with profound pride that we dedicate the 1957 LION to MRS. ELIZABETH S. RANDOLPH. Board of Education DR. E. H. GARINGER Superintendent DR.
