During this four-year span, the seniors have learned much and forgotten little. Theirs has been a pleasant journey, ex- periencing the ioys and sorrows that shall forever endear them to West Charlotte. Although memories of these years will always live in their minds, the Lion Staff very happily records, in tangible form, these memories for them. Each picture is a challenge to recall the glorious days of T953-1954. STUART, who, For fourteen years was clothing instructor at West Charlotte High School, the 1954 Lion is affectionately dedicated. Of such as she was there are few on earth, Of such as she is there are Few in heaven. And life is all the sweeter that she lived And all she loved more sacred for her sake, And death is all the brighter that she died, And heaven is the happier that she is there. -Selected v CHARLOTTE BOARD OF SCHOOL COMMISSIONERS J. GORDON CHRISTIAN J. P. HOBSON MRS. EMILY BELLOWS DR. HERBERT SPAUGH J. H. GLENN FRANK O. ROBERTS For four long and happy years we have been building a bond that ties us to West Charlotte. The strength of that bond lies in the friendships we have made, the spirit of loyalty we have molded, the experiences we have shared, and the memories we shall keep. . . . . . The sons and daughters of tomorrow voices raise Singing thy praise .... ' f x N44 ,ff ' With pride and confidence, the graduates of West Charlotte hold their Alma Mater clear and sacred to them. Those of you who remain here will share a similar attitude. The years we have labored here were but a fleeting moment ----- too briefly lived----- but, an indelible memory, too deeply imprinted to forget. . . . Thy loyal hand, be it ever our guide. . . .
