A flurry of activity might best describe WC during its most spec- tacular celebration of the year...Homecoming I960. The making of floats, the snake dance, and the pep rallies heralded the opening of the festivities. The football game saw action between the WC Blue Devils and the North High Hawks. The ending score was 19 -12 with WC on top. Half- time was highlighted by the presentation of the queen and her court. Robe rt Potratz, Student Council Vice President, crowned Janet Garnier as I960 Homecoming Queen. Her stunning court consisted of Shirley Jipson, Floy Crabtree, Carolyn Erickson, Mardelle Parkinson, Vicky Werden, and Jean Nus. The big day was climaxed with the Homecoming Dance at the Com- munity Hall. “DAMN YANKEES'1 Tradition was broken in the spring when the mus- ical comedy, Damn Yankees” sang and danced throughout the evening air, from an outdoor stage, aptly dubbed with the appelation West Central Am- phitheater . All the color, laughter, and light- hearted music of a broadway production nestled its way into the hearts of capacity audiences for three evenings. A fine co-operative venture of the in- strumental and vocal departments, and the drama- tics department, Damn Yankees was one of the high points of an eventful and gratifying year.
