HOMECOMING The cold fall rain stopped abruptly just before parade time to revive the damp- ened spirits of the West Central student body. Everyone went downtown to watch the parade of the floats and queen candidates. Several cheers and skits were given also. The Seniors had first prize float, the Juniors and FHA had second, and the third prize went to the FFA. Carolyn Meyer, Delores Steffen, Carol Hintz, Carolyn Erickson, Shirley Jipson, Sherla Beman, and Jean Nus were the queen candidates. Finally came the big night of the Homecoming football game with West Central smashing Valley High 14-8. During half time, the band played several numbers and there was another showing of the floats and queen candidates. Dale Hansen, student council president, crowned Miss Delores Steffen as Homecoming Queen. After the game, a dance was held at the Community Hall, with records providing the music.
