CO-EDITORS: Lois Friedly, Marian Larsen FOREWORD At West Central we have had a busy year from the first day of school last fall until the long anticipated last day of school this spring. We have looked forward to many events, realized their happening, and recuperated afterward. All of this has taught us how to work, to play, and most of all--how to live together. Looking back over the years each of us has different events or happenings that stand out in our memory. We react differently as we recall our favorite classes, friends and interests. It is the purpose of this '59 annual to present a picture record of schooldays. If you can refresh your memory of school days as you browse through this picture record of the past year, we believe our efforts will have served their purpose.

superintendent's message SUPERINTENDENT MELVIN KUPFERSCHMID Another school year is now history. We hope it was a good year for you and that you achieved many of the goals you had set for yourself. In retrospect, I consider that the past year has been a big success both academically and extra-curricularly. In the area of extra-curricular activ- ities, music, drama, and sports have all enjoyed a most successful year. The swing show, Harvey, the band performances, as well as the basket- ball, softball, and baseball teams will long be remembered at West Central for their successes. We will sorely miss the graduating seniors at West Central. We remain enthusiastic about the future, however, and expect this year's junior, soph- omore, freshman, and eighth grade classes to make significant contributions to a well rounded school program next year.
