Grapplers show improvement ln only its second year at West Catholic wrestling has already begun to make progress. Coached by Mr. DeVoe, the team gained experience and improved their record 2-8. Mr. DeVoe instilled in the wrestlers the enthusiasm and persever- ance so necessary for the grueling train- ing the wrestlers go through to prepare forthe matches. If the wrestling team con- tinues to improve as it has in its first two years the future will be encouraging. Kotarski says, I did it again. West Catholic golf team out for title Over the past two years the golf team has compiled a record that no other team at West can come close to duplicating. Last year the Falcons won the first city title for any varsity sport at West with a 39V2-V2 record. For the second year in a row the team finished second in the regionals to again win a trip to the state tournament where the boys finished in the top ten. Coach Al Slowinski is optimistic this year with the return of three lettermen, Chuck Rapolevich, Frank Kotarski and Tom Hardy. Kotarski, Hardy, and Rapolevich should be tops in the city. Backed by Bob Bernott and the rest of the team, West is again favored for first place. Tom Hardy tees off. 93
