Melodies express Christmas ioy On December 22, the music department high- lighted the Christmas activities with a Christmas program. Under the direction of Sister Mary Claude and Mr. Wendlandt, Joy to the World was a stupendous success. The rapt attention of the audience grew 'from the zestful Christmas Song of the band to the demure Who is This in Manger Sleeping of the chorus. Bob Mysliwiec, the narrator, announced the finale, the Halleluiah Chorus from Handel's Messiah. The Lord God Omnipotent reigneth rang in the hearts and ears of all. Christmas was in the air. Lois Suchocki, as an Indian maiden, expresses admiration for the Christ Child. Freshman-Sophomore Chorus provides melody and rhythm for the Huron Indian Carol.

4 - '- l Friars Overcome An enthusiastic crowd was on hand to witness the first great upset in the history of the Priest- Faculty games. Lots of practice and hard work formed a winning combination for the Friars as they downed the faculty, 61-40. The faces of the faculty expressed bewilderment as during the plays, the ball was continuously snatched away from them by their overpowering opponents. Several attempts to rally were made by the de- fending champs but without success. Miss Pavlinek and Miss Wilder led the faculty supporters in cheers, while the Friar's fans were directed by gaudily dressed senior boys. The dance in the cafetorium which followed gave the finish- ing touch to an exciting evening. Mr. Schmiedicke attempts to snare a rebound. The Friars gained support from various forms of lite lt's past the diagramming stage-we need pointsl
