The four years were nearly over md it seemed we had just begun our iigh school days. The weather had gotten hot and we were beginning to hink of shorts and the beach and it vas time to begin saying good-bye. The teachers and administrators 'eminded students that grades ieeded to be kept up, that the dress :ode was still in effect and that play- ng hackysack was not an indoor activity. Students and especially seniors ooked forward to Baccalaureate, ehearsals, and to Graduation. Vhere was a lot of excitement, an- icipation, and nostalgia in our feel- ngs as we looked back on what had been a very full year. WW FINAL DAYS - 153

Music for All Occasions --X1 ,Q ,tat 1 This year the band performed at the Edenton Peanut Festival, the Azalea Festival in Wilmington, Christmas parades in Morehead City, Beaufort, and Newport, attended competition in Roanoke Rapids, and members tried out for All-State Band. The band also performed for Veterans' Day Observances, Memorial Day parade, welcomed the Marines home 152 - MUSIC at the port in addition to providing spirit leadership for WCHS as a pep band and halftime show. Members of the band played for MY FAIR LADY, Baccalaureate, and Graduation. The band also gave formal concerts: truly the band provided music for all occasions.
