is fy, ,, W The year was 1985 The time was early spring. The dancers moved in perfect time, The chorus could really sing. The flower girls with curled hair, and the maids all dressed in white. Mrs. Whitaker's unending care awaited opening night. Brian and Lisa with the two main parts, stood up and looked their best. That night they stole so many hearts, and tears did all the rest. Randy and Cathy and of course Todd Hall, did a superb job as well. The Queen and her escort stood so tall, as the curtain rose and fell. The sets and props looked great all through, The costumes were oh, so fine. Our circle included the backstage crew, And Renee as the mother of Brian. The orchestra played their best that night, and Miss Gillis smiled with joy. The townspeople cried in full delight, As Mrs. Whitaker yelled, Oh Boy! The Cameras were there and the headlines read, of the hope that was never shady. We did it together and that is what led to the production of .... MY FAIR LADY - 115

Queen of Hearts' Dance Amy Edwards, Regional Director of the NC Association of the American Heart Association speaks to students. Candidates and their escorts were treated to lunch at the Charter Restaurant. QUEEN QF HEARTS Sixteen girls representing eight clubs and the four classes raised S8, 274.85 in just one week this year. Raising money for the American Heart Association has been a tradition at West Carteret since it opened. This year Renee Reynolds led the group by raising 31,616.48 to become the new queen. She was crowned by Student Council President Keith Garner at a dance held to honor all the candidates.
