Homecoming “Heaven In Your Eyas ‘‘It’s a lot of hard work and many little things are needed for everything to work out, but it was very exciting and the whole day was a special one,” were Mr. Mike Bultman’s comments about the 1986 Homecoming. As one of the Senior Class advisors, this was Mr. Bultman’s first involvement with the planning and arrangements of Homecoming. The day’s festivities began with the traditional morning parade. I thought it went great, very smooth,” said parade chairperson, Mrs. Vicki Hilliard. Coronation was at 12:45 p.m. with the crowning of King Jeff Slovak and Queen Lee Jean McDaniel and traditional introduction of the court. Lee Jean expressed being crowned queen as the neatest day of her life so far, and Jeff added that it was an experience he will remember for the rest of his life. In the afternoon football game, the Pirates suffered a heartbreaking disappointing defeat to the Edgewood Cougars. 17-14. From Coach Bob Brigati’s viewpoint, ‘it was a tough, physical football game and both teams played hard. We just came up short.” The day came to a close with the evening dance, “Heaven in Your Eyes,” in the gym, coordinated by Ms. Nancy Christiansen. 1 — Jennifer’s pride shows through as she awaits the march down the field. 2 — Step into the beat and strike up the band. 3 — A proud embrace shared by two sisters. 4 — Life’s a beach! 5 — The look of a new generation. 6 — “Hey man, this test is a piece of cake.” 7 — Arrg! Pirates are keeping an eye out for enemy Cougars. 8 - Sheila struts her stuff at the Homecoming halftime show. 9 — Wendy searches through the crowd for that Pirate pride. 10 — The Pirates take the Cougars head on.
