One could not recognize the gym on Saturday, May 3. When the couples walked in, what they saw were the night lights of a city. The Music Machine provided the sound as couples danced for One More Night at this year's Junior-Senior prom. The pictures were taken out in the courtyard to capture a natural mood. Good music and good company made for a very enjoyable evening and memories to last for years to come. 1 — Paul and Jenny gaze into each other's eyes. 2 — Having fun. Leslie? 3 — 1986 Junior-Senior prom theme. 4 — Tonya's lost in love. 5 — Kim and Lisa are looking good! 6 — What a cute couple! 7 — Ronnie and his date take a break from dancing. 8 — Lee Jean dances the night away. 9 — Andrea and David are all smiles. 10 — Don't look, but they're taking our picture! 11 — J.R. shows off his date. 12 — Nice shades. Brent! Prom 25

Due to the state's mandate, seniors were directed to stay in school longer, and to them, it seemed as though the week of final activities leading to commencement would never arrive. Eventually, they did during the first week in June, the last week of school. On a warm Sunday night, June 1, seniors were guided through the baccalaureate ceremony by Darren Jordan, chosen to deliver the Invocation, and Susan Slade, selected to do the Benediction. Pastor Maureen Van Heerden of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Trenton, Ohio, delivered the message, serious in tone laced with humorous anecdotes. After one formal and one informal practice, seniors (and underclassmen) were given distinction for outstanding achievements and performances at an assembly on June 2. Honors were awarded for outstanding performances in athletics, scholarship, leadership, citizenship, and for artistic merit. And, after one more formal practice, 296 seniors gathered for one last time as a class for graduation at Memorial Hall on June 5. Michele Wiley and Clarie Mays delivered the Invocation and Benediction, respectively. Seniors tapped Billy Spencer, Anna Foust, Paige Benson, and Jimmy Adkins to deliver orations. While the orchestra entertained in the lobby before the ceremony, the band played Mac-Arthur Park and the chorus sang I Sing the Body Electric during the evening's program. Mr. Van Tine presented the class. Dr. Ramage offered congratulations, and Mr. Robinson and Dr. Ramage awarded diplomas with the aid of Mrs. Moore and Mr. Maus. Even though several faculty members were honored by the class, the seniors were truly the stars of this evening, the stars of this show, this graduation. 1 — The beginning of the end. 2 — Susan blesses the class with a prayer. 3 — The graduates make their final stand at Memorial Hall. 4 — A little graduation smile. 5 — Portrait of a graduate. 6 — Is this a beauty contest, or is this Baccalaureate? 7 — Have you hugged your graduate today? 8 — Friends together for one last time. 9 — Gretchen prepares to award Piratan'sMost Outstanding Senior Boy. 10 — While others gaze on yesterday and tomorrow, Anna focuses in on Today. 11 — A few last minute adjustments. 12 — Curly, Larry, and Moe — together again.
