Pirate Swingers The West Carrollton Lady Pirate softball team ended with a recovering season after a slow start. The Pirates, having been affected by the levy, opened the season with four losses in a row. After Spring break and a chance to catch up, however, the Pirates had a five game winning streak and were competing for first place in the MCC. It took a lot of hard work and dedication, but the team ended the season with a sense of victory. 1. Mel McCully fires the bdl to first base. 2. Karen Hendrickson welcomes the throw for the out. 3. It Keeps Me The 1981 boys' track team was hampered by bad weather and a late start; nevertheless, it was a very successful season. The team was led by past state qualifiers, Chris Ross and Mark Parriman, who are well on their way to state in '81. The intense coaching of Mr. Graban and Mr. Houck influenced the runners so they could compete with the best track teams even though the levy interfered with the pre-season drills.
