Foreword The 1956 Wecava is an index of success-our success at completing twelve years of education. But we are not content to rest upon our laurels. Our motto, Not at the top, but climbing, best expresses our belief. As the yearbook explains, only after students have participated in intellectual and social organizations have they experienced one type of growth. West Canada has trained us successfully during our high school careers. It has laid the ground work for our success and has opened many opportunities for us. After graduation the individual's success depends upon his own ambition, resourcefulness, and ability to make use of his previous training. May our success truly be an inspiration to those following us. We are especially inspired by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the Salz- burg genius, whose music has communicated divine truths for two hun- dred years. Dedication Mr. Gustav Koch It is with pride that the Senior Class dedicates the WECAVA to the man who has given WEST CANADA its first Intervalley League Basketball Champi- onship in sixteen years, Coach Koch. He has not only coached the championship team, but has advanced the athletic department of the school immeasurably. His fearless leadership and his inspirational encouragement to all students are something that we shall long remember.
