On behalf of the entire staff at West Campus, I wou I d I ike to record our thanks and appreciation to the Class of 69 for the historic con- tributions you have made. You began the year by facing a campus which was to experience a building program of considerable magnitude. Despite the lack of yard space and the obvious limitation imposed by the new construction, you adjusted so well that we can honestly say that we were not seriously handicapped by the construction project. You were rewarded by being the first class to use a part of the new one million dollar addition to our campus. Of even greater significance was your eagerness to participate in our ever-growing student activities; you established the Inter-Club Council; revised our constitution and you helped develop a more realistic relationship with the East Campus. in the area of intergroup and intercultural relations, you have had dedicated colleagues who have made historic decisions which will greatly benefit future classes at West Campus. Finally I want to express a challenge to each of you. Your experiences here both academic and social — have been outstanding. May this year at W.C. be not only a year to remember fondly, but act as a springboard to exciting years ahead. Best wishes to you all 1 2 Superintendent J Jie ag.e It gives me pleasure to address a special message to the 1965-66 class of Berkeley High School ' s West Campus. You are the second class to attend this school under the new organizational pattern. Like the class which pre- ceded you, you are truly pace-setters. You are the first class to have attended both of the schools that were affected in the 1964 reorganization . The challenge was yours to take ad- vantage of the opportunities — and, yes, to face the problems — associated with the reorganization. There was no script before you. You were truly charting a new path. We are proud of the way in which you have met these challenges and have taken advantage of the new opportunities that have been yours. You have now completed your first year of high school and are looking forward to three more good years on the East Campus of Berkeley High School . You have our best wishes for continued success as you pursue your high school career. We shall be watch- ing your progress with Interest. 3 ADMINISTRmTION 1 J acuity. EACH ONE OF US IS ONLY WHAT HE HAS DONE OR SEEKS TO DO BUT NOT AS AN I SLAND AND SO , EACH ONE OF US MUST STRIVE ON FOR THE WORLD JAPY DANTON I would like to express my deep appreciation to my fellow classmates and to our excellent faculty advisors for their aid in making my term of office a most productive and rewarding experience . Ah excellent constitution was adopted, one that, I feel, is good enough to be the foundation for the future classes. We have established a fine court system as well as having added considerably to our class funds. In closing, I hope that we will look back upon this year with appreciation for the excellent academic and social op- portunities offered to us here. We should also acknowledge the work done by the students who tried to make this a better school for themselves and for the classes to follow. PAUL TITTMAN , president 8 I would like to take this opportunity to tell all the other candidates what a fine job they did on their speeches and campaigns. We all appreciated their efforts greatly. I also wish to thank all of those who helped me in my campaign. We are determined to make this semester one of West Campus ' best. With your coopera- tion and that of the faculty, we can really accomplish something. I am certain that this semester will be very rewarding in every respect .
