Nancy Ohlson was born on July 2, 1952, the daughter of Carl and Majorie Ohlson. She was the second of four children and attended West Bridgewater schools. She graduated in 1970. In 1974, Nancy Ohlson graduated from Bridgewater State College (with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education). Along with teaching she also coached Girls ' Field Hockey, Basketball and Softball. In June of 1974 she married Robert Dwyer who was a Physical Education teacher and a coach in the system. After their two sons were born, Nancy took time off from teaching, but she continued coaching. Leaving West Bridgewater, they moved to Carver. In February of 1980 Robert Dwyer was diagnosed as having cancer. Throughout this time they both continued teaching. On Christmas Day in 1982 Robert Dwyer passed away. In 1984, Nancy Dwyer met and later married Thomas Emord. At this time they continue to live in Carver with their three children: Jimmy, David, and Michael. Mrs. Emord, your courage and perseverance have been a lesson to us all.

We, as individuals, will always remember her courage and compassion.
