High School Administration Principal TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CLASS OF 1989 Congratulations upon your successful completion of your high school experience. There is no single blueprint for success, therefore your success might well be determined by your individual personality, ability and character. During high school years, you have had provided the opportunity to build personal success and school and community pride with the vast majority of you developing a genuine and positive attitude toward this end. The mutual affections, friendships and loyalties shared during your high school years will most likely change. For most of you, your new freedom will be exhilarating, but for some, could become terrifying if your independence is not manageable. Substance and good will prevail. The positive achievements and activities of your class will serve to remind us of the Growing Up you exper- ienced at WBHS. Graduation is the end of one phase of your life and the beginning of another. As you embark on your future course I am confident that you are prepared and have attained the maturity to be successful in today ' s challenging world. Your education has given you the information, the experiences, and the skills you need to pursue whatever you will do next. Your family and your teachers have given you the love and support to come to know yourself and to believe in yourself. It is now time to continue to work hard, to continue to seek your goals and ultimately to be all that you can be. The way may be explicitly clear at this time, but be assured, the fine qualities and characteristics that have brought you to this exciting time of graduation will see you through the next phase of your life. CF.RIIART Superintendent of Schools TO THE CLASS OF 1989: For the Class of 1989, I suggest that your graduation from West Bridgewater High School be considered as a beginning rather than an end. As a class, you have contributed much to the spirit of your school. Indeed, your accomplishments in academics and in athletics have been most commendable. You graduate into a rapidly changing world. Jobs that you prepare for will be changing within a few years of your entry. Some adjustment will be necessary as you meet the challenges of each day, year, and decade. It is an exciting time — wish you well. Perhaps this quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson will be of some help. Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in — forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day: begin it well and serenely, and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense.
