He grew up in Leonia, Nl, which is five miles from NYC. Mr. janelli is the oldest of three children and the only boy. During high school, he was co-captain of the basketball team which won the State championship in 1967, his graduation year. Mr. janelli attended Stonehill College on a basketball scholarship, however, he returned the scholarship after freshman year in order to devote more time to volunteer work. After graduating from Stonehill in 1971, Mr. janelli went on to receive his Masters in Human Development from Northeastern University. He is currently enrolled in a CACS program at the University of Massachusetts. Mr. janelli's first job after college was as a social science teacher at Brockton High School. Four years later, he began a humanities course at Billerica High School. He then became the director of an alternative high school in Ipswich. After that, Mr. janelli came to WBHS in September of 1981 to teach Problems of Democracy and US. History. ln 1982, Mr. janelli entered the role of assistant principal. Mr. ,lanelli married in 1971. He and his wife now have two boys. In his spare time, Mr. Janelli enjoys reading as well as writing poetry. He also likes watching basketball games and playing with his sons. In the future, Mr. ,lanelli would like to become a high school principal or return to a department head. S
