I TRODUCTIO THE MEANING OF I984 l984 is a year with special meaning. It is the year George Orwell chose to immortalize with his vision of the future. It is a year of Olympic hopes, dreams, struggles, victories, and defeats. lt is a year in which America will select her leaders for the next four years, and it is our graduation year. With so many events affecting our present, it is probable that we will someday be makers of history. We have grown up in an ideal era: one where we preserve our past, live our present, and work for our future. Let us give better than our best And create - for ourselves - immortality.

SUPERI TE To the Members of the Class of l984, Graduation marks the end of a significant phase in your lives. As individuals and as a class, you ha ve left your mark on West Bridgewater Junior-Senior High School. Each class is unique, and yours is no different. There ha ve been many accomplishments during the past four years, academic, athletic, extra- curricula, and personal, for which you can be proud. l'm sure there have been low and high spots during your time at West Bridgewater. Hopefully, as you look back, the high spots will outnumber the low. It is our hope that the education you ha ve earned while a student at the High School will enable you to be productive members of society and has provided you with some of the skills to adapt to an ever-changing world. Although the next phase of your lives may not be as simple, you now are presented with an opportunity for greater satisfaction and success as you strike out more or less on your own. Certainly people will be there to support and assist you when the need arises. but you now have the opportunity to make the choices and perform the work on your own. We hope you will use the gifts each of you has to make a better life for yourselves and for your community. Congratulations on your Graduation, .lohn S.
