SUPERINTENDENT OI: SCHOOLS TO ALL THE MEMBERS OF THE CLASS OF 1975 Congratulations to the largest class in the history of West Bridgewater. You are deserving of recognition not only for your size but, more importantly, your quality. During the past twelve years you have worked long and hard to achieve success academically, in community activities and projects, and in the various extra-curricular activities of the school. For all of these accomplishments I thank you on behalf of your parents, your teachers, and our fellow citizens. Keep up the good work in the years to come and I'm sure suc- cess will be yours. No matter how great the task ahead appears, keep in mind the old proverb, A journey of 1,000 miles starts with one step . We faculty members have tried hard to help you under- stand and to master the traditional 3 R's. Now without reducing the importance of their academic goals, I want you to give consideration to adding a 4th R. This is the R that's not too popular with some in today's world, Reli- gion. I agree that to insert it into the public schools that serve such a diversity of races, creeds, and cultures, it should only be studied for understanding and not adop- tion, that's the task of the home and church. This means that we, by law, must not participate in any religious practices in the public schools. It does not alter the right of each of us, within ourselves, to act in keeping with the teachings of our own beliefs, so long as they do not in- fringe upon the rights of others or oppose school policy and incorporate these attitudes in our daily lives wherev- er we are. Always take time to investigate and, most im- portantly, practice the religion of your choice. While academic courses that you have mastered will help you to cope with the challenges ahead, there are times when even a brief pause, for reflection, can do a great deal to help you in your belief in yourself and faith in others, so necessary to achieve a full and satisfying life. A strong sense of religion, many of us have found, has been a great help in time of trouble. Please keep it in mind. Good health, good luck, and God bless you. Donald A. Fisher Superintendent of Schools SCHOOL COMMITTEE: Top Row: 5. Carlson, D. Mclver, D. Raleigh, C. Barrosp Bottom Row: R. johnson, D. Heath, Chairman, D. Fisher, Superintendent, R. Kennedy, Secretary.

S. ERICK BENSON, Principal Bridgewater State College, B.S., M.Ed., Boston University, enjoys fishing and hunting. VICE PRINCIPAL TO THE GRADUATES OF 1975 Within this book lie memories of happy days, days to re- call with fondness, days upon which to linger with regret that they are no more. While at West Bridgewater High School, you have had the opportunity to develop skills in both academic and non-academic areas, and in these times of unrest, you now have the responsibility of transform- ing this knowledge into social action. In my short time at West Bridgewater High School, I have met many fine individuals and I wish each of you success and happiness. Thomas P. Illuzzi Assistant Principal PRINCIPAL TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CLASS OF 1975 The outcome of your experiences of the past 12 years is as far reaching as you care to make it. Each and every one of you can cite many examples of the great accomplishments that have helped give life new promise and meaning. Converseley, you can cite examples of frustrations and failure. It is my sincere wish that you, the Members of the Class of 1975, share those experiences which lead to a happy and full life. Your education has not terminated because you have reached the milestone called graduation. Education is an ongoing process. It will be through your concerted effort and concern that posterity will be guaranteed their birthright of a good education. As you apply your acquired knowledge and skills, pause occasionally and show your appreciation for the value of the education you have received. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to each one of you for your contributions to West Bridgewater High School. May I also offer my congratulations upon your completion of your public school years and extend to you best wishes for a successful and happy future. Yours truly, S. Erick Benson Principal THOMAS P.
