DEDICATIO The Class of Nineteen Hundred and Seventy Four of West Bridgewater junior-Senior High School proudly dedicates its Yearbook to Mr. Ronald Broman in appreciation for the many things and the many ways in which he has helped' us these past six years. Individually and collectively we respect him as a teach- er and Class Adviser, admire him as a courageous Driver Ed instructor, and consider him a good friend. To Mr. Broman we sincerely and affectionately dedicate our 1974 Climber. ,,..,.ni we 'PM an x V x 5 w1 ',4. rg yesterday through our set our goals and work employmg our knowledge of ff' Donald A. Fisher Superintendent of Schools .4 PERI TE DE T OF SCHOOL Members of the Class of 1974 The world today appears tainted with violence, strife, and greed. In addition, political leaders in whom we had placed our faith and hope have been exposed as being dishonest and lacking in consideration for others. These things can seem depressing and frustrating even to the point where some sincere citizens may adopt an 'iOh what's the use?,' attitude. Yes, it's true we are in troubled times but this Nation, like all growing nations, has never experienced a period when it has not encountered prob- lems of a countrywide or international nature. Instead of letting such events overwhelm us we must try to overcome them and avoid repetitions of them in the future, lim a believer of the saying, Out of all bad there comes some good. Thus, today if we look beyond the headlines, and more deeply into what is taking place, we find the many good things and the great improvements enjoyed by the majority of our citizens. An exam- ple of this, here in our Town, has been the leadership role played by younger people in a belated but now determined effort to protect our nat- ural environment. As a popular advertisement puts it, 'iYouive come a long way babyli' Don't get the impression the above in any way lessens the many inter- esting but demanding challenges ahead of you. Again, to borrow a phrase, You still have a long way to gofi While you are coping with a long way to gon try to make your part of the World at least just a little bit better than it was when you first came upon it. In this way you wll not only rec- ognize the sacrifices made by your parents, teachers, and others before you but you will make a better place for your children as they follow af- ter you. In perhaps a small but always important way you will play a part in making a good World an even better one. Congratulations, good luck, and may Cod bless you with good health and happiness in the years ahead. Donald A. Fisher Superintendent of Schools 1 SL.,....,.,,.,., vi P Cezotis,N1r Fisher X MINI TR TIO To the Members of the Class of 1974: Sincere congratulations for the accumulated accomplishments registered during your twelve years of public education. These com- paratively few years have been extremely productive. Your contribu- tions have been many and as varied as your needs and interests. As enjoyable as the successes of the past have been, the future beckons. In a world as tense as that of the twentieth century, the magnitude and quality of your efforts must be exceptional. Dehu- manization with its manifestations of human turmoil, political unrest and rootlessness must be checked. Hopefully, you are better pre- pared than any of your predecessors to meet this challenge. Happily, not all of your energies will be expended combating what superficially appear to be insurmountable problems. Much of your time will be spent in pursuit of vocational goals, meeting family responsibilities and enjoying recreational activities. All of these con- tribute to a wholesome and well-adjusted individual. Truly this has been one of your many objectives of the past twelve years. Thank you for your support and contributions to West Bridgewa- ter High School during the years we have shared together. May your future be blessed with happiness and success. Yours truly, S. Hopefully, your academic experience here at West Bridgewater High School will help you attain the goals to which you aspire - either in furthering your education, as a homemaker, or in your chosen career - and you will share your heritage of wisdom, beauty, freedom and other moral values with the next generation. This is a profound task, but knowing you and your capabilities it is with much pride that I watch you go forth. Congratulations! Robert F.
