Your classroom teaching tempered with a bit of humor has varied our monotonous schedules. As a Future Teachers' advisor and as our senior advisor you have devoted much of your time. It is through your helpful advice that we as a class leave, feeling that we have not only taken from West Bridgewater High, but also given to it. Mr. Cameron, your familiar cry of Seniors will not soon be forgotten. We find it is very diflicult to express on paper all that you have done for us. May we end our high school yearsywith a personal Thank-you for aiding us in this period of our lives. . -dl- 1 X .15 , . w-Qc,-4.4, 1 QT-'SEB , 1 L x, ' l I .Le-v . .- -pw, x- :. -. 5,4 . Principal dministration Dear Graduate: It is a pleasure to congratulate you members of the Class of 1969 upon the completion of the first phase of your education. I refer to your elementary and secondary years as the first phase because most of you will be entering other schools or colleges this next fall. Yet, regardless of whether or not you are continuing in a formal school program, your education continues throughout your entire life. Obviously I am not limiting myself to classroom type activities. I refer to the daily opportunities that you have had and will continue to have in your home, church, school, and elsewhere to be exposed to experiences that will now help in making the decisions and judgments demanded of responsible citizens. This is the usual way in which one matures and continues his education in a democratic society. Your interpretation of our times will be indicated in your attitude. The pessimistic or defeatist type of person can only believe failure or catastrophe will result from the problems facing the world. The optimists and positive thinking people will look upon these same problems as challenges offering opportu- nity for growth of the individual and overall improve- ments for mankind. You have received some of the tools to cope with these problems. VVhich approach will you take? Thank you for your many contributions to our schools and community. God bless you and good luck in the years ahead. 0 Donald A. Fisher Superintendent of Schools MESSAGE TO SENIORS You are entering a society which is complex and fast moving so that few, if any, can keep up with all the things that are happening. We, at West Bridgewater High School, have been attempting to impress upon all students the necessity of accepting the responsibility needed to survive, and, hopefully of improving the world in which they will live. The greatest complaint of young people today seems to be that in some manner or other, their rights are not being considered when decisions are being made by the persons in authority. If you expect to be really heard, you must accept the responsibility that goes with decision making. To have your judgement considered you must initiate action to prove to all that you are worthy. Mr, Thomas Burdin, Principal Your generation is no different from others in your frustration over the slowness with which the adult society is willing to accept change and move ahead. WVe, the adult society, are accused of worrying too much over trivialties, but if you analyze the problems that young people complain about, they are just as trivial in the overall scheme of things as long hair or short skirts . This leads me to say that if you intend to criticize society, be sure that your criticism is justified and of sufficient importance to be considered, and be sure that, in your efforts, you do not do the same thing which you are criticising. You can be certain that the ideas by young people and the reaction of young people to these ideas are usually just as insignificant to society as many of the concepts with which you feel adults waste time. VVhen you come up with, or align yourself with a cause, be sure it is significant, and worth the time and effort you may spend. Please remember the three R's: Respect for all, Rights for all, Responsibility for all, and remember also that HAPPINESS IS EDUCATION. Please accept my best wishes for all your future endeavors. All is not forgotten. Our minds relive the memories of our school, our teachers . . . our friends. H NVe are thankful for experiences that have helped us grow in body and mind: for the successes and failures, the joys and the disappointments, which have challenged our spirits. XVe will gradually acquire a steadfastness that will not let success weaken us or disappointment cast us down. In time, we will acquire Mthe serenity to accept that which cannot be changed, the courage and faith to change that which can be changed, the wisdom to distinguish one from the other. We will be careful to consider our doings before we do them, and our words before we speak them. As we leave these halls, we will take with us, in our hearts, . . . youg and in departing, we, seniors, will leave behind us, footprints on the sands of time. B. Although newly formed, we are proud to have had so many students to join. Many different areas of study are open to all members interested in the theatre. Our first assembly at Christmas was wamily received by all and paved the way for better things in the future. This marked the first major breakthrough in showing what a club of this type can do toward bringing the student body closer by learning to work together' for enjoyment and self-satisfaction. Elections were held and the officers voted into office this year are, President, Marsha Gallagherg Vice President, Cheryl DeVineg Secretary, Sherrol Perryg Treasurer, Christine Staples, Clerk, Nancy Mazza. Representatives for the classes were chosen as follows, Senior Rep., Diane DeVineg Junior Rep., Melinda Coelhog Sophomore Rep., Susan Macdonald, Freshman Rep., Pamela Keith. The person to whom we owe all our thanks is our advisor Mrs. Murphy, who has shown us the true meaning of a Dramatic Club. ff . bv It-5 r'l' ' 1 Qi i xi vf X 82 ,Q Varsity Club ma X K, , H' EV' evixxqzxzxs..4..,.,'-m':,.:++ X 1, Q.
