THE I966 CLIMBER SENIOR CLASS PUBLICATION WEST BRIDGEWATER HIGH WEST BRIDGEWATER. MASS. CONTENTS FACULTY SENIORS UNDERCLASSMEN ORGANIZATIONS 50 ACTIVITIES 66 ATHLETICS 78 ADVERTISEMENTS IO 5, FOREWORD This year is, for us, one ofthe most important years in our lives. Graduation is one of the most important goals of our lives. This goal is attained through work and vigor, sacrifice and under- standing. The road has its disappointments but it also has its re- WGF S. d No goal is achieved eas ly But by working together, the burdens become lighter. They no longer seem burdens but shares in the process of meeting our goals. We will go our separate ways but only in body, not in mind or heart. We will find new goals in life, but through the knowledge we have acquired, we will meet them. 3 CDLIR Coach DEDICATEE During our years at West Bridgewater High, this man has guided our uncertain and unsteady course with understanding and enthusiasm. He 'anever shrinks from his responsibility, but welcomes it. His knowledge, truthfulness, humor and ability both in the classroom and on the athletic field give us an example well worth heeding. We are deeply grateful and respectful of his never ending willingness to help in our activities and of his influence upon us. Thus, the class of l966, proudly dedicates this, its Climber, to Mr. Charles Loverin. Teacher Father . , ,,,.. ,Q '3 - , i-5 . ' LILY A .L'j21L1.jg 2 4 T. .I , , I . QF., .liiig ft Mr. Donald A. Fisher, Superintendent Dear Students: As I was starting to write this message I happened to look up and saw a book titled: Time to Live. These three simple words stirred my imagination. I wondered how many times we tail to do as they suggest. Most of us, thanks to modern science and automation, now have more time when we are not working at our regular jobs. While, in many respects this can be very beneficial, it can also create some new prob:- lems. Specifically, how to make best use of this free time? Healthy recreation of many sorts is at hand at little or no expense. Each of us should daily set aside some definite time for such things, as, sports, hobbies, entertainment, travel, and the like and thus return to our work relaxed and refreshed. However, in addition or in coniunction with these other types of activities, we have a responsibility to our world to give some of this time to help others. Therefore, I suggest you save some time, to not only refresh yourself, but to give a portion of your energy and time to some community proiect. Not only will you unselfishly help someone else, but you will gain and grow yourself by aiding another. Lastly, don't stop getting an education just because you have finished high school, keep at it as long as you live and you will find that this Mtime to live will be more meaningful. It you feel the High School or my office can be of service to you at some future time, be certain to contact us. Good Iuckl Sincerely, Donald A. Because of an enthusiastic staff and a cooperative advisor, the paper has been a literary success. Many hours of typing and mimeographing have been spent on the paper. Interested students showed their writing ability in the fields of news, features, sports, and editorials. Three issues every year are produced by the staff with the last issue devoted to the seniors. The paper will continue to grow and be an inspiration tonthe student body. WIND Fifth row: L. Holmes, G. Berry, P. Adams, R. Chase, K. Anderson, R. Boyan, C. Steptoe, J. Gazotis, Mr. Sullivan. The field hockey team for 1965 may have not had a great record, but their enthusiasm and determination was beyond compare. Working with only a few veterans plus many eager recruits, Miss Kyle spent much time preparing them for the first game. The iunior varsity made up entirely ot first year players, worked hard to be re- warded with 8 wins and 3 losses According to the officials, this year's team showed the most skill and spirit of those in the history of our school. The coaches also voted Susan Styles and Ginny Berry players of the year. FIELD HCJCKEY M nl' 1 1:15, .!'51'.f'1!, '4'-1'fr mpg: .
