CLIMBER The sea of knowledge covers a vast area, and as we embark on our ship of Good Hope , rnany adventures beckon us to various ports. As we are launched on our hopeful journey, the whole world lies before us waiting t b con uered. As the years advance, our vessel becomes more heavily o e q ladened with cargo. All this is in preparation for the day when we shall reach our destination. But what does this destiny hold? For each one some- thing ditterent. Some will make use at the cargo which has been gathered along the way. Others will board new ships, gather more cargo, and ex- plore other new fields. 4 Mr. Armand R. Gendreau ALL HANDS ON DECK DEDICATION During our years in high school, this man has led us through every event with a guiding hand of wisdom and understanding. He has prepared us to meet prob- lems which we face in this democracy, and he has taught us ancient languages. Because of his never-ceasing willingness to help in senior activities and of his in- fluence upon us to activate our abilities to the utmost, we give him a warm Thank You , and dedicate this, our 1963 Climber,to Mr. Armand R. Gendreau. 5 NOWlHEAR Ti-us Congratulations to you, the Class of l963, upon the successful completion of your high school education. l hope that the years spent with us will prove to be rewarding in whatever endeavors you may undertake. I hope that your future years will be fruitful, happy, and successful. May all of you enjoy a full life for yourselves and your families. I Sincerely, Peter J. Sperandio Principal ...... . Our one year stay with you has been ex- tremely enjoyable, and we extend ta you on behalf of the whole student body in this l963 Climber our most hearty Welcome. .-9 Mrs Mryon Mather Secretary It is a pleasure to have this opportunity to extend a few words to the seniors at West Bridgewater High School. Although it has been my privilege to know you for only a brief school year l have been favorably impressed by the cooperation ex- tended to your teachers, your general ability, and your desire to improve by taking good advantage of this school year. Congratula- tions upon the successful completion of your studies and may good fortune follow you in the years to come, Do not let your high school diploma represent a termination of your edu- cation but rather let it serve as the key to further self improvement. Remember, too, your high school is prepared and anxious to be of additional service to you in the Years ahead. Donald A. The plays are usually presented at some time during the winter, and this year's play was enacted on De- cember l4th and l5th in the high school auditorium. Howie, a three act com- edy by Phoebe Ephrn, was about a very obnoxious young man who lived with his wife's family. Howie was a misfit-un- able to get or hold a job, and was con- tinually giving out unsolicited advice and information. Howie finally found himself as a result ofa quiz show-the high point of the play. If I answer this question correctly, do I get to take off this hat? The team's three and six record contained three losses which, with but an extra touchdown, could have been reversed. Some outstanding individual efforts by veterans, especially in the backfield, kept the team in every game. With eighteen returning lettermen, things look bright for next year. FIELD HOCKEY Like so many other athletic squads at West Bridgewater High School, the girls field hockey squad was dominated by underclassmen.
