The Clas- I A G sics of the past are the core of his s r life, he has brought them to life for 2,5 . x 7 'K . ,f eleven graduating classes of this high .5 it if ,r school. And these books have shaped our lives, formed our ideals. From Aristotle we learned of logic and reality, from Chaucer, the earthiness of everyday life, from Shakespeare, an understanding of motivation and charac- ter, from Tolstoi, the compassionate forgiveness of our fellow man, from Wordsworth, a love of nature, from Churchill, the courage that lies beneath human frailty. , Our school life, too, has become a personal classic . . . we have written it ourselves. If the words are hazy or clear, the chapters 'muddled or ordered-it has been of our own doing. We have written finis and cannot rewrite a sen- tence-no, not a single word.
