Sometimes these years were toughg studying late for an important test, working hours on home- work, and being loaded with books. But the rewards from the learning of these years have made the years speed by. A TIME FOR US: OF FUN Who could ever forget these years! It wasn't all fun of course: there has been work, dissappointsments, and problems of youth. But being here at school has left many mem- 'N' ories ofthe good life: the fun times. We'll all remember friendsn our class members, our teachers, and the good times we've experienced t h th e rn I yi V Q , ,. .,,., , ,,,.., 3 A i FL van , .QL A ark!- a Time for Us A time for us someday there'll be When chains are torn by courage born of a love that's free, a time when dreams, so long denied can flourish as we unveil the love we now must hide. A time for us at last to see a life worthwhile for you and me. And with our love through tears and thorns we will endure as we pass surely through every storm. A time for us someday there'll be a new world, a world of shining hope for you and me. A time for us at last to see a life worthwhile for you and me. if s, s 1 tjfaki,-..sl, r.,5,,,g . Another ofWest Branch's fine Warriors tovpay the supreme sacrifice for his country. The stars of Old Glory are whiter, the red a deeper red because ofthe lives of these young men. The grief that is too hard to bear We need not bear, or fear, Be comforted, remembering That One who cares is near And He will hold us by the hand Until the dark skies clear. G. Crowell As a carefree senior The muffled drum's sad roll has beat 0 A The soldier's last tattoo, 4 fb No more on Life's parade shall meet 1 0 Q I The brave and fallen few an H It On Fame,s eternal camping-ground The silent tents are spread, And Glory guards, with solemn round, f. . The bivouac ofthe dead. I T. O'Hara l These heroes are dead. They died for liberty-they died for us. They are at rest. They sleep in the land they made free, under the flag they rendered stain- less, under the solemn pines, the sad hemlocks and the tearful willows. They sleep beneath the shadows of the clouds, careless alike of sunshine or storm, each in the windowless palace of rest. In the midst of battles, in the roar of conflict, they found the serenity of death. R. G.
