Though at times the adjustments have been bumpy, our new Doctors continue to earn respect of both faculty and students. Our energetic principal, Dr. Mark Masterson is eager and willing to listen to students, and his enthusiasm is always evident whether he’s walking briskly down the hall with his clipboard or attending prac- tice with the girls’ basketball team. Our assistant principal. Dr. Paula Burk offers a different perspective with tales of past experiences in ex- otic places like Africa. We are sure they will continue working to make our school stronger academically and better overall. Excellence Award As the CLASS of 1988 prepares to leave West Boylston Jr-Sr High for the final time, I would like to extend our collective best wishes for suc- cess and happiness in the years ahead. We have done our best for you; if you have done your best, your future should be bright. If not, I would encourage you with the age- old admonition, It’s never too late.” It is imperative we understand that we take from this life equal in pro- portion to that which we put into it. Many have sacrificed in order to provide you with a good education. I encourage you, when your time comes, to give back to society will- ingly in order that subsequent gen- erations may enjoy the same bene- fits you have known growing up in West Boylston. THANK YOU! oO I Tfie HEART OF WEST BOYLSTON JR-SR HIGH Everyone looks to Suellen Supernor and Kathy Bavosi for answers to their problems. Teach- ers pick up their mail, make phone calls to par- ents, prepare class work for copy machine in the office. Students from the Busi- ness Dept, work in the office as part of office practicum. Attendance is checked, late arrivals, early dismissals, emer- gencies all stop at the office. Despite endless phone calls, typing and copy machine projects, and a constant process of teachers and students entering or leaving the office, Sue and Kathy find time to help each and everyone. Our year- book would not have been possible without them. THANK YOU. SUE KATHY! SUELLEN SUPERNOR KATHY BAVOSI 61 Fall, winter and spring athletics have students literally running after school, some evenings, weekends, and vacation days. Many students play more than one sport during the year and some play on town teams, too. WBHS teams advancing to play- offs (by spring) were Varsity Foot- ball and Girls Varsity Basketball. 62 BEST SEASON The powerful Lions football team, under the coaching of Dick Priestley, had its most successful season ever, finishing 7-2-1, just missing a berth in the Super Bowl.
