. . . Someone who cares . . . He’s always there to help us Through even our hardest times . . . Now ain’t it good to know that We’ve got a friend MR. EDWARD BOUVIER

“MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT” Ideas, ideals, and individuals matter most in our lives. Some ideas change v ith the times, some ideals are modified under stress, some individuals command our admira- tion and some disappoint us. But there are always some ideas we will not forfeit, a few ideals we will not alter and a few individuals we learn to cherish. Taken together, they helped make us what we are and will be determining influences on what we may become. Mr. Thomas A. Wood Mr. Charles N. LaPrade MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL” In my life, there are many memories . . . many vivid . . . many remote . . . many heartwarming — and a few which have been discouraging. But my profession is of my own choosing, and had I not enjoyed working with young people, I would not have selected a career in education. Memories in your life in school are especially vivid now and may prove to be more vivid in years to come. If I could impart one precept to you from these memories, it would be to live a life of kindness and understanding for everyone ... to show a sympathetic understanding in your various actions akin to a love of mankind. Too often are we prone to judge quickly . . . too often are we guilty of not under- standing situations completely and thus react in a manner detrimental to someone . . . too often are we not “full of the milk of human kindness” and make derogatory remarks very harmful to others . . . too often do we display a selfishness which causes injury to others. One could not lead a better life than by following the philosophy of doing good for others. This signifies leading a life of loving humanity . . . your friends, family or any- one with whom you are associated. If this is accomplished, you will have succeeded beyond your wildest dreams — a life of bitterness can be empty; a life of kindness is fulfilling. 10
