Class liistorg Some may remember, some may not, but it was the year nineteen thirty- nine that rshered into the west Bend kindergarten twenty-seven beaming, but confu ed, boys and girls They were Larry Allen Marlene Alban Barbara Baas, Keith Ballard Benwy Banwart, Joyc Banwar , Donald Becke, Bernadine Bleu r Della Claude Mary Io Crotts, George Dorweiler, Jayne Dunn, James Eichler, Ronald Garling, Gloria Gearhart, Jacqueline Graham, Earl Krug, Janna Lee Krug, Kenny Lee Krug, Phillip Lovats Gareth McMullen, Howard Morey, Robert Samson, Richard Sauder, Daniel Schneider, Joyce Truelsen and Gerald Zaugg Our teacher was Miss Belva Harting It seemed that this year Je all liked to slide down the curved roof of the playhouse Thanks to the boys that we girls never got hurt Even though Mayne Dunn was little, he had enough energy to hit Ronald Garling on tne head with a padlock never did know why when we entered the first grade the following fall, Miss Maxine Ellen brack m t us at the door lhen roll call was taken, wc found that we had one new student, Peggy Paton Missing from the roll were Marlene Alban Barbara Baas, Bernadine Bleuer, Mary To Crotts, George Dorweiler, James Eichler Ronald Garling, and Phillip Lovats During the year Bob Samson and Gareth Mclullen decided to leave us This was the year that we d cided to make use of the cubby hole b tween the cloakroom and the cla sroom It was kept busy at times As ve rushed to the second grade, we lost Jacquelin Graham, Kenny Krug, and Peggw Patton Those with the keen sense of smell who picked up our trail were Anna Abbas, Eugene Anderegg and Janet vdwards Our teacher was hiss Mary Ellen Nation This was the year that Gloria G arhart brolght a snake to school, but it got away from her we went in search for it 'nder the olding, but had no l ck As we ent r d the third grade, Miss Toserhine Blungren met us at the door Je foxnd that Ioan Leonard had foined us During the year Eugene Anderevg and Donald Becke d cided to l ave us Vhen we were rronoted from the third grade, the inventory showed that we had one new student, Frank Beuk ma Joan Leonard decided to leave us this year Taking the fourth grade roll we found that no one was missing Miss Arlie Norland was the teacher who helred us throxvh thi grade Nhen w belan the fifth grade we were oined by Junior fverheart Lee Fry, Jeanne Law, Jeannette Law, and James Schmidt On the f1rst day Mrs Grace Cri uan, our new teacher, found Danny schnei r and Janet dwards always kept us busy writing such things as UI will not speak without per missionn or HI will not chew gumn and so on, for a thousand times Wh n we ent red the sixth glade, Miss Dell Ming was right th re to meet us It as during tnis year, that Miss Ming r was taken violentlw ill Mrs Nell Boevers act d as a sub titlte teach r until Miss Laura Zierke took ov r Je foxnd that Janet Edwards and Barbara Grant had oined us This was the year that the boys took the girls on exyloring trips to th and the cre k Ve never got lost, but thanks to Mr Cowan for coming and getting us as we did get cold Q ag. when we entered the seventh grade we were met by Mrs. Crisman, whom we thought we had left back in fifth grade. when roll call was taken we found Donna Verla Belle that we had nine new members. They were Leona Anliker Robert Becke Fehr, Patty Ketelsen, Rolland Krug, Darrell Loerke, Melvin Mathson, Reese, and Fred Traub. During the year Daniel Schneider and Lulu Doty decided to loin us. It was during this year that we extended 1' our sympathy to Leona Anliker when her sister, Helen, was killed in a fire. As we went on to the eighth grade we found that Bernadine Bleuer had ioined us, missing was Jeanne Law. The next year when we came to school we found ourselves as Freshmen filling those seats right inside of the doors of the assembly. After we had gotten settled, we found that Barbara Baas, Lee Fry, Mark Montag,Mm- vin Montag, Gary Plahn, and Hazel Zinnel had found themselves a seat. Missing were Jeannette Law and Gloria Gearhart. Hazel Zinnel decided to leave us during the year to take up that great career of a housewife. It seemed that this was the year that Lulu Belle and Della thought they ne dn't wear shoes in the study hall, but Mr Duncan showed them differently when the next year came, we entered the tenth grade de all came to school looking for the best seat and sitting by the person that we wanted t It seems as if Gloria Gearhart, Bob Samson, and Barbara Schuelke were among those looking for a seat Joyce Banwart was missing from our roll Mr Jensen receiv d the headaches this year It se ms like he just couldn find the right seats for Anna and Della With the thought in mind that we had iust two years left, we entered the eleventh g ade Gloria Gearrart was missing from olr class this year Our Tunior Play under the direction of Miss Gr en was Hbound Your Horn a three act comedy After this, time was stent on earning money for th banqu t The theme of the Junior Senior banquet was nPlantat1on Party Frank Tonas furnished music for the dance Thanks to our sronsors Mrs Claiborne and Miss Beneke our banquet was a huge success Ve have nov reached the goal that we have b en aimlng at for so nany years that of being Seniors We found that Barbara Schuelke was missing Verla Reese decided to leave us during the year The class chose as their class flower the yellow rose, the colors aqua and silv r and the motto chosen was HTak One Step At A Time, But Always Forwardn Out of the twenty eight s niors this year, only nine of tnem have mained with us during tne entire thirteen years of school They are Larry Allen, Veith Ballard, Beniy Banwart, Della Claude, Jayne Dunn, arl Krug, Janna Lee Krug, Mr Jensen make our Senior will be glad to excitement that Howard Morey, and Joyce Truelsen and Mr Niccum are the class sponsors who have helped to year a success As our Senior year draws to a close, we get out of school, although we will miss the fun and the we have had during our years here We will take our plaf in the world and will try to become a success in whatever w do -db QM ff XE Q n C Y o. .
