Mr. Roy T. Crignon as seen in his 1929 application picture. Dedica tion The retirement of any good teacher is a saddening loss, but when Mr. Grignon leaves NVest Bend High School, he will leave with a feeling of satisfaction, Pop, as he is affectionately known to his students, is not only a master of the subject matter of chemistry, but also an understanding instructor who knew his students. This year he completes his 34th year of teaching at VVest Bend. Pre- viously, he had taught at Marinette for five years. Well qualified for his profession, he received his Bacheloris Degree from Lawrence College and his Master's Degree from the University of Wisconsin. Because he enjoyed working with young people, Pop supervised activi- ties outside the classroom serving as Faculty Manager of Athletics for 25 years, as Director of Intramural Sports for 15 years, and as Golf Coach for 27 years. For his fine record of service to the XVest Bend High School and the community, we proudly dedicate the 1963 Bend to Mr. Roy T. Crignon. In Farewell I Say. The other day I was asked this question: Pop, if you had your life to live over again, would you still be a teacher? VVhen I think of the excitement of athletic contests, the hum of school activities, the sonic booms in my laboratory, the concentration of young people trying to learn a most complex subject and the hundreds of nice young people I have been privileged to work with, the answer is an emphatic, Yes!,' Having been blessed with these experiences, may I advise you young people, while gathering pleasant memories, to work hard and get everything in school now to be prepared for the complex World of tomorrow. Believe me, it is complex, and he who is best prepared will best succeed. This is my final word to you as I say good-bye, good luck, and may the best of everything be yours. POP GRIGNON Pop', Grignon as we know hi.m. DEDICATION . . . 5
