Juniors --- Seniors --- Senate . . . Voice of the Students SENATE OFFICERS Kathie Staral, John Limbach, Karen Petermann. This year's Student Senate, ably presided over by President John Limbach, was a hub-bub of activity. Starting its schedule at the beginning of the school year, the Senate sponsored the traditional Homecoming festivities, including the parade and dance. Continuing throughout the year, the Senate projects included: Dads, Night, Bermuda Day, the Christmas Door Decoration Contest, and the Annual Awards Day Program. One project, never before attempted by a student organization, consisted of bringing forty senior citi- One of the Senate's projects was a Senior Citizens' Day, including an assembly. zens from the VVashington County Home to our school to look in on classes and extra-curricular activ- ities. Various students and senators acted as guides for the guests. At an assembly program held the afternoon of their visit, the student body joined in singing carols to them. In conjunction with the YAC Council, the Senate presented the County Home with a FM radio system for its dining room. Under the guidance of Mr. Taylor, the Senate proved itself to be truly The Voice of the Studentsv in every respect. YAC Council . . . Groundvvork for Social Life YAC COUNCIL OFFICERS Ken Erickson, left, took part in a YAC Council Vice-President john Crundahl, President Dave Scheer, project sponsoring a trip for our Senior Secretary-Treasurer Pat Merriam The Youth Activity Council really followed through on its intended purpose of serving the com- munity during the past year. Under the able leader- ship of President Dave Scheer, Vice-President Iohn Crundahl, and Secretary-Treasurer Pat Merriam, the Council planned and directed West Bend High School social activities. It also led the school in con- ducting various community projects. Among the high- lights of the past yearis agenda are included: the Summer Formal, the after-game dances, a Clash Citizens to a musical show. dance, a party featuring the Legends,', the annual Midwinter Ball, Alpine Village, a student bowling league, and various movies throughout the year. The Council also sponsored a trip to the musical, Pajama Gamef for some of the Senior Citizens and mental patients living at our two county homes. At Christmas time, the YAC Council conducted a party for these people in the Youth Activity Center. Twenty members from all classes comprised the Council, while Mr. Al Dearborn guided its activities.
