THEIR DIPLOMA N As sophomores, we returned to XVBHS hopeful and more sure of ourselves, since we now felt that we really belonged. Our skills in activities increased with experi- ence, and we became even more outstanding in debate. forensics, dramatics, and music. Many of our classmates became noted for various abilities in athletics as well. This year our class officers were President Lynn Foell, Vice-President Tom Grey, and Secretary-Treasurer Mary Lewis. Laura Lindemann was chosen as our class representative on the Homecoming Court and Miss Noll's homeroom won in the float competition. Socially, our sophomore year was highlighted by the May Ball and the Post-Prom Party, both of which were very suc- cessful. Bonnie Brown was chosen queen of the May Ball and Dennis Bothenmaier king. Returning as juniors with a broad outlook for a busy and exciting year, we set out with enthusiasm as upperclassmen. Filling class offices were john Clay- baugh, president, .Indy llosenow, vice-president, and Susan Kissinger, secretary-treasurer. Carl Ziegler led the student body as president of the Student Senate, Diane Koenings was secretary-treasurer of the organi- zation. .ludy Cerman was our candidate for homecom- ing queen and Nlr. Sehnelke-'s and Mr. Day's home- rooms placed fi1'st and second. respectively, in the float competition. Members of our class again did outstand- ing work in all extra-curricular activities, and 25 were initiated into the National Honor Society. Then, follow- ing our decision to adopt a school ring, members of the class of 1958 became the first to wear this beautiful emblem of our school. To climax our junior year, we had our prom, which, as usual, kept us busy until the very last minute. sf- Tlze 1957 State Lund judging Clunnps --- Seated, Dale Kendall and Ray lloskopf: standing, jim Belongia and Jerome Fechter. UNE 12 The long-awaited senior year finally arrived! To fill the important senior class offices, we elected Steve Anderson, president, bludy Cerman, vice-president, Bonnie Brown, secretary, and Mary Plischounig, treas- urer. Lynn Foell was elected president and Bill Held vice-president of the Student Senate. Our last home- coming was especially exciting when Bonnie Brown was chosen queen and Mr. Day's homeroom brought home top honors in the float competition for our class for the third consecutive year. The days slipped by so quickly and we were kept so busy that we hardly had time to realize we were doing things for the last time: Our last homecoming --- the parade. the bonfire, the game, and the danceg our last football gameg our last Nlidwinter Formal, the fun-filled Hobo-Hop, our last basketball gameg the last operettag the last concertg the senior class playg our last promg and finally --- gradua- tionl HONO B ROLL JOAN AKIKEHAIAN Ili-1i,r:,x BAKICNIICYEH STIQYIC BAUER BAnnAnA BAUBIAN lllftlmno BAUAIEH Lurzv BE1:K BoNNlE BENEIDIKTI' .IOANNE BEVEH ELAINE BoEKEn BONNIE BnowN KEN TDHII-JSSICI.
