BAN ... 7' I Announcing the West Bend High School Marching Band! This statement was heard during every half-time at the home games this fall. A welcome statement it was. for no football game would have been complete without the sight of the smart. snappy band marching into formations on the field. One of the best shows put on last fall by the band was given on homecoming night. The theme was 'LThe People's Choice in honor of election year, During the course of the show, the band, through musical selections. traced United States history from the time ofthe colonies to the present. A donkey and an elephant. played by four freshman boys, capered out to represent the two-party system. There were many other band activities this year. Among them were the lively pep band heard at basketball games, the professional-like swing band. performances of solo and ensemble work, a concert in the late winter, the spring festival, a clinic under Mr. Donald MeCatheren. and many others. Any student who played in the band this year was kept very busy! Practice, eo-operation. interest. time. and effort are all needed to make a good band member and a good band. Guest Conductor.
