BRUCE BERTRAM We of the class of 1956 are very proud to dedicate the forty first volume of The Bend to Mr Bruce Bertram His devoted School has certainly made him worthy of th1s honor His lrankness and fairness with students have made him one of the most popular teachers on our campus Born and reared in Waukesha WISCOH sin Mr Bertram attended Waukesha Hlgh School Hls educational background con sists of a B A degree from Carroll College with graduate work at the Unlversity of Wisconsin and the N8t10H3l University of Mexico where he studled Spanish Upon the completlon of h1S college tralnlng Mr Bertram served almost four years in the Armed Services After fulfill mg his obllgatlons to the government he held a position on the teaching staft at Lodi WISCOHSIH Six years ago he became a mem ber of the faculty of our school He IS cur coaching debate and forensics SIHCQ his arrival the debate teams have made an enviable record Wlnlllng the Little Ten Championship five times 1n SIX years being represented in State Champlonshlp tourna ments five times in six years winning one State Forenslc Champlonshlp and fmally ga1n1ng one lNat1onal Forensic League State Championship As a result of this last achlevement both teams traveled to Call forma to compete ln the Natlonal Tourna ment ln 1955 In recognition of his devotion to his profession and to the lnterests of his stu dents we are happy to dedicate the 1956 Bend to Mr Bertram DEDICATION 1 I xx '1 E Q .
