Seniors Memmee Are Afaale 0 TL Graduates Yes the day of depart ure from the halluavs of West Bend Hlgh School has fmally arrlved for the class of 1956 Four of the best years of our lxves have been spent rn 1ts classrooms and corrldors now those years are but a part of the past And yet the many yesterdays fulfllled there the t1mes of laughter joy sor row and tears have not completely faded 1nto obl1v1on for the memorles w1ll hnger on Who can ever forget those f1rst freshman davs as we gazed rn wlld eyed wonder at the hugeness and strangeness of hlgh school The be w1ldered GXPTGSSIOHS on our green countenances must have brought many an amused glance from the upperclass men who stood sllentlv by watchlng our s1lly and anlmated act1ons Our greenness soon vanlshed and w1th the a1d of our class offlcers Rlchard Beth Raymond Krels and Sally Brown we gradually fam1l1ar1zed ourselves w1th th1s new way of l1fe By the close of the f1rst term we were a well adjusted freshman class we had settled down to a busy and profrtable year and had enjoyed the experlences that hlgh school had to offer Thus feelmg confldent and con tented we began w1th a bang our second year at WBHS As day after day sllpped away our llst of accom Semor Class offlcers rnclude Presldent D1ck Foell Treasurer Mary Eklo V1cePres1dent George Rothenmaler Secretary Malgle Huber Vlrll you please srgn my Bend? 16 SENIO plrshments grew slzeably and our honors multr pl1ed Class electlons gave us the followmg as offlcers Charles Cropper Rlchard A SChm1dt and Rachel Flnch We jumped for Joy when Sally Brown our candldate for the Homecomlng fes t1v1t1es was announced as Queen we were proud of Soma Bernhardt who took part ln the extemp oraneous speaklng d1v1s1on of the Natlonal Forenslc Contest held 1n Pennsylvama 1n 1954 Wlth the half vnay mark of our hlgh school career at hand evldent were the reallzatron of a hlghly successful two years thus far and the urge to contlnue at an even greater pace than before The JUHIOI' year proved to be the most 6XC1t mg and meanlngful of the four terms When class elect1on t1me rolled around we were confronted Wlth the chooslng not only of a class presldent but also of the prom klng as vell After a perlod of cons1derable campalgnmg lt was txme to vote and Steve Harter emerged v1ctor1ous from the hectlc hubub the reclplent of the two fold honor Other class officers 1ncluded Jerry Wolf and Dlanne Shaw Fred Strey was re elected as VICE presldent of the Student Senate and Karen Rehwaldt served as secretarv treasurer of the organlzatlon What a thr1ll every one of us ex perlenced as we glomngly dlsplayed our class rlngs for the f1rst tlme And then the hrghllght of the vear drew near From the frrst crazy mxxed up meetmg to the last m1nute prepara . . l - 0 0 o L lb F . . .
