f ind' I I TIIATIO Finishing his second year in Vvest Bend, Superintendent Fred Holt is the director of the educational pro- gram from kindergarten through the twelfth grade. He has B. S. and M. S, degrees from the University of Wisconsin. lVIr. Warren Evenson, complet- ing his third year as our principal, supervises all student and faculty activities in the high school, He has received a B, S. degree from La- Crosse State Teachers College, an lVl. A. degree from the University of Chicago, and is now working toward his doctor of philosophy degree at FRED HOLT VVAIQIREN L, EVENSON . U ' Superintendent Principal the University of Chicago. The five members of the Board of Education. as the policymaking group of West Bend's public schools, have spent a busy year. In April, l949, two new mem- bers were elected: lVIr. Henry Dhein, jr., director, to succeed lVIr. james R. Brown, and lVlr. Leslie Handke to succeed lVIr. Robert Barber. After discussing school building details, the board approved the plans for expanding the school plant with two new additions. These include an enlargement of the industrial arts department, an agriculture class- room with testing facilities and additional locker room space for athletics. Other problems with which the Board has been concerned are the reorganization of the school district, school finances, and meetings with various teacher groups. Superintendent Holt, Principal Evenson, and the five members on the board of education are working together constantly to improve the educational pro- gram in West Bend. THE BOARD OF EDUCATION R. J.
