lg E M2 Z I ,4 k FUTURE HO0L LEADER The sophomore class has often been thought of as the dullest class because tts members are no longer excrted lrttle freshmen nor are they yet elevated to the esteemed posrtron of upperclassmen But th1s rs not true none of rt All sophomores wrll agree thxs has been a wonderful year Our class has accompltshed a lot but we could never have done as much as we dxd wrthout the fine leadershlp of our class OEICCYS They have worked earnestly and untrr rngly to make the sophomore class outstandmg Our prest dent was Luke Heppe Drck Daggett vrce presrdent Ken Troedel secretary treasurer Shortly after school opened rn the fall we had a party It vtas a specral sophomore party whtch ns now a pleasant memory for all who attended When Homecomrng rolled around we partrcnpated eagerly and enthusxastrcally ID all tts actrvrtres Hoats wm dows bonfire All the football and basketball games were well sup ported by sophomores Some of us even played on the team Dave Grogan and Duck Schrkowskt were out there representing our class and with plenty of sp1r1r SOPHOMORE CLASS OIFICERS Luke Heppe Presrdent Ken Troedel Secretary treasurer Rtchard Dagget Vrce presrdent Band and glee club were well attended by sophomores antce Koth drd a fine job as drum majorette Evle Spartzs lovely srngrng entertalned all of us We took part rn all phases of forensrcs declamanon extemporaneous speaklng and the other speaking act1v1t1es Marxlyn Moeller proved her worth unquestronably rn temporaneous speaklng when she won flrst place rn the Freshman Sophomore Lrttle Ten Contest She was also a debater on the A squad Many sophomore grrls have gone out for G A A Almost any nrght one could hase seen Marrlyn Klumb down ln the gym A large group of grrls went out for cheer leadlng Marrlyn Iertherser was among those chosen from our class There was no lack of school sprrrt 1n the class Several members of our class jomed the Cllpper staff Pat Denker a feature vsrlter had the journal publish her story of the day Duck Daggett was prrncrpal No nt can t be sand that the sophomore class ns dull s as actne and excltrng as any When we return next fall well be looking forward to our junror year but we w1ll alwavs Chertsh the memories of the happy days of our sophomore year 0180 5 Q y Y . , . , J - 7 n . UST BEGINNING Now that our freshman year IS almost over we look back on those many happy days wrth fond memorxes of excrtmg football games snappy pep meetmgs smooth dances and many other eventful actrvrnes On September 3 Freshman Day we became acquamted wlth our fellow freshmen who were just as bewlldered as we were But xn the days whxch followed we became better acquamted wrrh the school nts teachers and the upperclass men Soon we were feelrng more at ease and began to thmk of W B H S as our new home of actrve learnmg and domg Of course one of the first thmgs we dxd was to elect class ofhcers The results were presxdent james Cam vxce presxdent Bllly Wolf and secretary jack Cook One of the blg feathers ln our cap was the election o our candldate Curtls Claus as student senate vnce presldent It was qulte a prize to have a freshman Wm over the sopho more candrdate Rxchard Daggett Thxs years freshmen class added a lot to the spnrrt o the school 0200 FRESHMAN CLASS OFFICERS Bull Wolf Vnce presldent ftopl John Cook Secretary treasurer james Cam Presxdent A greater number of freshmen turned out for debate and other forensic actrvrtles than ever before In our opnnron our first homecommg was a grand suc cess The fact that Robert Thersen a fellow freshman found the toothpxck and had the honor of crowmng the queen and Irghnng the bonfrre added to the excrtement and enyoyment of our first homecomrng We cheered along wnth the rest of the school when the B team whnch ns composed largely of freshmen marched on to a vnctorlous end second place nn the Lrttle Ten Bas ketball League A large number of freshmen also turned out for track baseball golf and other sports Clubs and other actnvrtres had many freshmen joxmng thelr ranks throughout the year We really have a good many reasons to be proud of our freshman year and we are lookmg forward to makmg our sophomore year even better .
