Boys' sporTs were handled by Jack Ecker and Russell PeTri. Jean KoTTel wroTe mosT oT The girls' sporTs. lmporTanT members oT The general news and TeaTure sTaTT were BeTTy McCargo, Joan Cameron, and Lucille Proebei'.WalTer Tuchscherer served on The business and adverTising sTaTT. Finally, Two juniors, Lois Rosen- Thal and RoberT RaTTray, were assisTanTs To The ediTor-in-chieT. Such an enumeraTion oT personnel shows The exTenT oT The junior inTluence in This viTal sTudenT acTiviTy. IT does noT include, how- ever, The TalenTs oT The people in accomplishing Their jobs. I The junior sTudenT body is privileged in having as iTs leader The all-round school boy, Bob Sonnenberg, alias Gus, Blubber. As presidenT oT The class he had The honor oT leading The grand march aT The gala evenT oT The year, The Prom. Bob is a well-known TooTball player and is everybody's Triend. Wells Grogan, Brownie To all oT his Triends, is our vice-presidenT. Brownie is one oT The versaTile juniors who parTicipaTes in many school acTiviTies. OT primary imporTance was his work as chairman oT The prom dec- oraTions commiTTee. A large parT oT The success oT The MoonlighT Cruise goes To Brownie. He also wenT ouT Tor aThleTics and played in The school band. OT course, a class always musT have a secreTary- Treasurer. The juniors elecTed Lois RosenThal. Lois is noT only prominenT in many oT The school clubs buT is also on The honor roll. She represenTed our school in de- clamaTion Tor Two years and her SouThern imiTaTions shall long be remembered. Lois Took charge oT our books and wroTe The minuTes oT The meeTings TaiThTully. We, juniors, owe a large parT oT our high raTing as a class To These oTTicers, who will long be remembered. When The LaTin Club This year wished Tor some murals To decoraTe The walls oT Their class room, iT elecT- ed Johnny Jaekel To do The painTing as a projecT in his arT class wiTh The assisTance oT Mr. Reis. Since Johnny has been inTeresTed in arT during his enTire school career, This was his chance. He Took The job and Tinished iT beTore The end oT his school year. The murals should become a permanenT remembrance Tor Johnny. Typing is anoTher subjecT which many oT The juniors Take in order To prepare Themselves Tor TuTure jobs. There we see Miss Herreman giving advice To Pearl Kuhn, an enThusiasTic TypisT. Two Typing courses are oTTered: a one-year course Tor sTudenTs who wish To acquire The skill Tor personal use in order To Type neaTly such Things as leTTers, Themes. manuscripTs, ouTlines, and privaTe records: The Two-year course is vocaTional and covers deTails oT oTTice rouTine such as legal documenTs, sTaTemenTs, and Torrns oT busil ness leTTers, By The end oT The second year The TypisTs musT reach a raTe oT TorTy-Tive words per minuTe as a minimum.
